Meet The Founder

Warmest Regards, I’m Cherys! Founder and creator of The Client.

As a driven entrepreneur (and a recovering people-pleaser), I was constantly finding myself in the “free trial” mode with new clients - even with a handful of testimonials and a few spec ads in my portfolio.

While I didn’t doubt my skills as a writer, I was constantly fighting this battle of trying to persuade others that my writing would in fact deliver.

On rare occasions those “free trials” did turn into paid opportunities.. but most of the time I was left with nothing to show for it - just empty pockets and empty opportunities.

So I wanted to create a system to help me prove my skills and avoid any objections over “whether or not I could provide value” to a business.

You know the quote, “Data doesn’t lie?”

Well it turns out that was the bit of proof I was missing in order to really convince these clients of my value...

And it was data that inspired me to create The Client.

A communal email list (for starters) seemed to be the ideal place to create

  • a community of followers who can support one another

  • offer an official place for new writers to practice their skill

  • and give them the social proof they need to avoid the “free trial” period forever

The success and the growth of The Client relies solely on its Subscribers.

So when I say we’d be nothing without you, I mean it.

BIGGEST THANKS to you for your interest and support!

Becoming an Editor

The role of The Editor is to analyze, critique, and mentor new Writers throughout their experience of writing for The Client.

The job begins with discussing topic ideas with The Writer from a precontrived list. Not all Writers for The Client will be email copywriters, so it’s The Editor’s job to pair The Writer’s skills, interests, and preferred niche with a topic that best fits all three.

Once it’s written, The Editor delivers the email, compiles all replies and data from said email, and forwards the info to The Writer.

They then will provide a thorough critique and a testimonial for The Writer’s work.

Job Requirements:

  • In order to critique other’s work, The Editor must be 100% confident in their knowledge of copywriting, content writing, and more.

  • Having a specialty (email copywriting, sales pages, website copy, content writing, etc.) is welcomed and encouraged - we’ll pair you up with a Writer in the same specialty.

  • The Editor should be generous and positive, but not afraid to give honest feedback. (Pretty much have mastered the “compliment sandwich” technique.)

  • The Editor will need to be available for a 15-20 minute discussion call with each Writer they work with, as well as the allotted time for editing and gathering data.

**As of right now, the role of The Editor is on a volunteer basis. But as The Client continues to grow, this will become a paid opportunity! Stay tuned.
